Pontispool brings the Cotswold Cup to the South West!

In an exciting move for the South West, Pontispool has joined forces with the Cotswold Cup series and will be running a qualifying weekend on 9-10 September 2023. We hope that those who missed the opportunity in May will be able to join us for this inaugural event.  Make this your 'go to' autumn Horse Trials - why not make a weekend of it and book stabling and accommodation on site.  It's sure to be an enjoyable and educational experience.  Lucy McCarthy has designed entirely new tracks and the ground will be aggravated if necessary.  Dressage will be on permanent pasture and the show jumping phase will take place in our extensive all-weather arena with fabulous viewing amongst the trade stands.

Raising the bar for unaffiliated eventing, the Cotswold Cup launched in 2021 and provides a series of top class events across the Cotswolds and surrounding area. Open to all and running at 70cm, 80cm, 90cm and 1m, with junior sections in each, it is true grassroots competition, culminating at the prestigious Championships at Cirencester Park from 29th September - 1st October.  This will be your last opportunity to qualify.

Richard Mitford-Slade, Director of Pontispool Equine Sports & Holidays, explained “Pontispool is delighted to be hosting a Cotswold Cup qualifier, we have seen the Cup go from strength to strength and fully support the idea of a true grassroots series, with courses set at the high standard riders have come to expect from Pontispool. The weekend will see classes open to anyone at all, whether you are taking a shot at getting to the championships or trying eventing for the very first time. The team and I are passionate about eventing and want to see participation thrive and believe the Cotswold Cup weekend here will offer exactly that, a fully professional horse trials with a friendly, supportive atmosphere. We would like to encourage those who are further away to come and make a weekend of it, with stabling and accommodation offering to suits all budgets”.
